Terms of use

These terms govern access to the MyDefectCase intake and evidence-organization platform.

No legal advice or attorney-client relationship

MyDefectCase is an information-organization tool. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not decide whether a claim is valid. Creating an account, submitting information, receiving an automated summary, or sharing a presentation does not create an attorney-client relationship and does not guarantee that any attorney will review or accept a matter.

Your responsibilities

You agree to provide information you reasonably believe is accurate, upload only material you are authorized to provide, protect your credentials, review automated output before relying on it, and avoid using the service for unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or infringing activity. Do not upload malware or attempt to bypass security controls.

AI-assisted output

Automated summaries, dates, identities, descriptions, damage entries, witness references, timelines, and suggested factual propositions may be incomplete or incorrect. They are organizational aids, not findings of fact or legal conclusions. Important information must be verified against the original Bates-cited evidence and, where appropriate, reviewed by a qualified attorney.

Presentation links

You control which uploaded files are approved for a presentation. A published presentation is accessible to anyone with the link. You are responsible for choosing appropriate material and recipients and for avoiding publication of confidential, privileged, personal, or third-party information that should not be shared.

Availability and changes

The service may change, be suspended, or experience interruptions. Features described as automated depend on configured third-party services and may be unavailable when those services are not connected. We may update these terms by posting a revised effective date.

Disclaimer and limitation

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available without warranties of legal outcome, accuracy, uninterrupted operation, or fitness for a particular matter. The operator is not responsible for decisions made solely from automated output, missed deadlines, or disclosure caused by a presentation link you share.

Contact

Questions about these terms or the handling of your information may be sent to privacy@mydefectcase.com. These terms should be reviewed by the operating law firm's counsel before public launch and supplemented with the governing-law, dispute, and firm-identification terms appropriate to that operator.
